"We have simplified our processes, improved response times and are prepared to address the new growth and internationalization projects we have planned."

Manolo Castillo, Director of Processes and Systems

Over 200 years of excellence in textiles

Bassols started Spain's first 100% linen factory in 1790. By 1883, the company expanded and incorporated mechanical looms into a new factory in Barcelona.

The company has long been recognized and associated with the high quality of its products, earning its first Gold Medal at the 1888 Universal Expo in Barcelona and again at the 1929 International Expo in Barcelona.

The company's journey began in 1980 with its first home textile collection, followed by a global expansion into fashion and interior design in 1992. Today, these diverse sectors continue to be managed under one single, renowned brand.

The challenges

Greater integration, higher merchandise agility wanted for smarter growth

  • System Integration: Migrate three legacy databases containing repeat business and logistical data, integrating them with eCommerce platforms into a single system.
  • Product Agility: Develop a more agile approach to product launches across new collections and the hospitality industry, backed by accurate, detailed records (manufacturing data, compositions, size/color variants).
  • Manufacturing Control: Gain greater control over manufacturing operations by optimizing external workshop management (order planning and allocation) and improving visibility of current and future stock.

The solution

Customized, sector-specific solution with eCommerce integration

Spanish partner, Practics, developed a vertically-integrated solution tailored to Bassols’ specific sector requirements in just four months:

  • Textile Vertical (PStyle): Managed the entire collection development process—from concept to design and material selection—providing technical tools such as data sheets, seasonal rates, BOM variants, and matrix-based Order Entry for colors and sizes.
  • Orisha Commerce Adoption: Embedded tailored ERP functionality directly into the system, such as calculating fabric consumption based on piece layouts during cutting.

"We chose Orisha Commerce for its technology platform, its extensive textile functionality and ease in adapting to industry-specific requirements — such as calculating fabric consumption according to the layout of pieces in the cut — which were developed in the ERP itself. As a result, the whole company now works only with Orisha Commerce."

The results

More orders processed, shorter delivery times, and significant IT cost savings

  • Centralized Platform: Unified logistics, financial processes, multiple eCommerce platforms, and distinct business operations into one centrally-managed system.
  • Operational Gains: Boosted order-processing capacity, cut delivery times, minimized picking/packing errors, and increased warehouse productivity through mobile device integration.
  • Cloud Deployment: Implemented the Openbravo Commerce Suite in the cloud, removing hardware infrastructure investments so Bassols could focus entirely on strategy and expansion.
